The Installations of the Festival: the last virtual tour of Radicepura

We have fulfilled our senses with the perfect, elegant atmospheres of the leading landscapers’ Star Gardens.
We have filled our souls with the fresh effect of the Blossom Gardens, the creative place for talented, young garden designers.

Now, we greet you with the secrets of the last stop of our virtual tours: it’s time to explore the Radicepura Garden Festival Installations.

Let’s go with the first structure created by the design studio founded by the landscape artist and artistic director of the Festival, Pablo Georgieff and the architects Miguel Georgieff and Nicolas Bonnenfant, the “Garden of the Mediterranean Diet”. This is a garden that comprises an incredible variety of typical products of our food culture. A collection that tells the cycle of the seasons and the rhythm of natural life. Through technological innovations, it is possible to catch the origin of gastronomic excellence in Mediterranean area.

A tribute to the beauty of our nation is the “Giardino Italia”, a great structure that makes us walk through the paths of the uniqueness of our ecosystem and highlights the peculiarities of the territory, from Alps to Sicily. Selected plants evoke the history and traditions of Italian cuisine, the pride of our culture that makes us famous all over the world. The author of this artwork is Giò Forma, the international studio founded in Milan by Cristiana Picco, Florian Boje and Claudio Santucci.

And now, let’s talk about action painting! A fun step back to cheerful childhood with the colors becoming part of the artwork. “La Macchia”, by the self-declared “wandering gardener” Donatello Chirico, is an invitation for the public to leave an indelible mark: on a large canvas, visitors are encouraged to leave a colorful sign, creating an artistic and social link between people and the installation itself. It is a work of art that displays its absolutely new, original and collective identity through the fusion of man with nature.

Finally, you’ll come across a structure that, at the beginning, might leave you bewildered and then mesmerized. It’s just a matter of changing perspective and climbing to the top of stairs. This reveals the work and the best way to admire it. “Anamorphose”, by François Abelanet, destroys every rule to recreate it and surprises us: perspective, geometry and harmony of shapes, twisted and recomposed, produce extraordinary optical effects that can stimulate you and bring you into a lovely parallel dimension.
