The Micro to Macro Garden invites visitors to reconsider their relationship with the urban environment. Therefore, the installation is a laboratory that gives a sample that could be experimented in the city of tomorrow.
The Micro to Macro Garden follows the evolution of the plants through 3 phases : the limited landscape, the released landscape and the extended landscape. This creates a succession of areas colonized by nature and offers a space for observing the process of land restoration.
Each hole, each crackle and each interstice is conquered by plants and biodiversity takes place. Helped by natural elements such water, air and sun, the energy of plants restaures the soil that becomes fertile and useful. So, the micro becomes macro.
Entering the garden, visitors will experience a multitude of sensations. They will cross the garden by a central path which transforms as they walk along. First, they will enter a smooth mineral square, where the vegetal ground and plants are limited. Because of the concrete they will feel warm. Little by little fissures appear and plants crackle the concrete, breaking up the soil and creating a basalt gravel which is a feature of Etna. Between the ruins of this square, plants become bigger. Because of the porosity of the soil, the plants abound and escort the visitors to the last room of the garden. They are invited to rest in the shade of the trees. They escape into a setting of lush, colorful and fragrant vegetation.
